Overview:

The Retail Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the security operations at a high profile shopping mall. The supervisor acts as the go-between and point of contact for both site security officers and the security programs manager, and is responsible for administering Paladin’s program to the site and security team. The supervisor will participate in placement interviews, training and performance management of staff members as well as day-to-day operations including patrolling and customer service.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the general operation of all Paladin staff on site.
  • Supervising, mentoring, coaching, and training site staff.
  • Following our continual disciplinary model and implementing as needed.
  • Corresponding with the HR department to ensure all required information is compiled and up to date.
  • Liaising with clientele and the designated client Manager on a daily basis.
  • Interviewing, screening, and approving applicants for the site.
  • Responsible for all staff schedules and addressing schedule abnormalities as required.
  • Maintaining team morale through effective communication and organizing team engagement.
  • Responding to site emergencies in a lead capacity, contacting and coordinating with emergency responders.
  • Patrolling the site and overseeing the success thereof for all parties.
  • Ensuring all Paladin staff are providing exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors and patrons.
  • Report writing and reviewing all staff reports to provide to constructive criticism.
  • Tracking training and signing of to ensure compliance of contractual obligations.
  • Ensuring the completion of all required online courses.
  • Collaborate with the CSM to create comprehensive site drills for the staff.
  • Maintaining the Paladin OH&S program on site, including risk assessments and First Aid Records.
  • Ownership of the overall success of the site both during working hours and afterhours.
  • Other site related duties as required

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of security-related experience preferred.
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a security or retail environment an asset.
  • Valid Security License or Basic Security Training.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with limited supervision.
  • A high level of maturity and professionalism.
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Physically able to stand, sit and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age and have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • First aid training, confict resolution, and Advanced Security Training are considered assets.
Site rate: 24.50/hour

Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday (40 hours per week)
