Position: Full Time Security Guard
Site: WSIB
Site Address: 120 King St W, Hamilton, ON L8P 4V2
Overtime Method: Employment Standards Act – calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly
Hours: Monday - Friday (0830-1630)
Payrate: $22.28/hr
Posting Date: June 1, 2026

This site is a Government of Ontario Building.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitor and patrol (foot and vehicle) the premises to ensure safety and security.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities.
- Control access at TA points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.
- Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activities.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to the management team.
- Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting any unusual occurrences.
- Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors as needed.
- Cooperate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary.
- Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.
- Security personnel are to be conversant with emergency duties and procedures
- Report incidents to appropriate personal as required
- Liaise with other security staff on site
- Liaise with bus drivers transporting TA workers
- Utilize two-way radio for communicating site activities
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Ability to utilize security portable access readers
Requirements:
- Valid G-Class driver’s license with last 3 years of clean driver’s abstract required
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License and First Aid CPR C
- Minimum one year of experience working in security
- Proficient in English (both oral and written)
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
