Job Skills / Requirements

Job Title: Janitorial Floor Tech 2nd Shift   

Location: Effingham, IL and Surrounding Areas     

Schedule:     

FT Monday-Friday, 4:30PM-1AM (8 hours)    

Pay: Starting at $17.00/hour      

(Occasional adjustments may be needed based on business requirements)     

This is a hands-on, independent position ideal for someone who takes pride in delivering excellent service and enjoys staying active on the job.     

Each evening will be different—this role involves traveling to a variety of accounts in Effingham and surrounding areas to provide cleaning and floor care services based on business needs.

ESS Clean provides a company vehicle for travel while on duty.     

What You'll Do:

As a Janitorial Floater, you’ll perform a variety of cleaning and floor care tasks, including:     

• Travel to different job sites each evening to cover open shifts and new accounts
• General cleaning: dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, restroom cleaning, etc.
• Floor maintenance: scrubbing, stripping, refinishing, buffing, and sealing hard floors
• Carpet care: spot treatment, hot-water extraction, and general carpet cleaning
• Special services: window washing, upholstery cleaning, construction clean-up
• Equipment handling: safely transport and operate floor machines, vacuums, scrubbers, and extractors

Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Must be dependable and self-motivated
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Prior cleaning or floor care experience is a plus but not required—we’ll train the right person!

Job Requirements:

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling
• Must be able to wear and operate a backpack vacuum
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Motor Vehicle Report
• Background Check
• Pre-employment PHysical

Work Environment:

• You may work in offices, schools, factories, or medical clinics
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals and occasionally unsanitary conditions
• Evening work required
• Must take trash to outdoor dumpsters, regardless of weather

Tools & Equipment Provided by ESS Clean:

• Backpack and upright vacuums
• Mop, bucket, and housekeeping cart
• Floor machines, scrubbers, and extractors
• Gloves and personal protective equipment (PPE)
