ARMED PARK RANGER JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to Quality Control Manager and/ or Client Manager

 

Position responsibilities

  • Vehicle patrol assigned parks and recreation facilities solo or with a partner and maintain general safety and security presence as described in Post Orders.
  • Operate a patrol truck or SUV vehicle both on paved and unpaved terrain.
  • Conduct lock-up and unlocking of parks and/or facilities as needed.
  • Provide information and directions to park visitors.
  • Enforce City ordinances and select vehicle code sections, make physical arrests and/or issue citations in accordance with City policy as needed.
  • Wear a uniform and full duty belt, including firearm, baton, pepper spray, handcuffs, and flashlight.
  • Demonstrate professional communications with co-workers, visitors, vendors, and city staff at all times.
  • Respond to emergency calls for service including fire and damage to property.
  • Generate and submit electronic activity logs, Incident Reports, Parking Warnings, and Maintenance Reports using a mobile application.
  • Work under general supervision of a Quality Control Manager, and/or Client Manager.
  • Maintain consistent performance, attendance, uniform appearance, and professional demeanor.

 

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 25 years old. 
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Possess a valid CA Driver's License with clean DMV History.
  • Possess and maintain a valid CA Guard Registration (guard card), Exposed Firearm Card and own firearm, Pepper Spray/ Tear gas certification and Baton
  • Ability to successfully pass a firearm qualification with one of our in-house instructors.
  • Ability to successfully pass a thorough oral interview
  • Ability to successfully pass a multi panel drug screen.
  • Ability to successfully pass an MMPI-2 psychological assessment.
  • Have the legal right to work in the United States.
  • Fluent in English (fluency in other languages a plus)
  • Ability to read, write and understand written orders, policies, procedures, and how to apply them.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, outstanding customer service skills, and takes initiative while carrying out existing
